On Personal Style: Style is all about pulling what you like and make it work for you. Not everything that's in style suits each person. Its being willing to alter it and making it fit your personality. It is also about being comfortable in your own skin and knowing your body. Finding patterns, colors, details, shapes that flatter you and make us feel good.  Oscar Wilde once said, "Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it ever six months." I think its funny how fast the fashion industry and trends change.  And its because
we are forever changing our minds and how we feel so trying to categorize a specific style to me is impossible.  But what I can tell you is what I am into as of lately.
I am really into vintage trends with a modern take on them. I have been into it for years and I think whatever I have on resemble something vintage in some way.  I am also facinated with the classic american look as of lately.  The old Ralph Lauren sort of stuff. Really resort/ vacation on Martha's Vineyard kind of vibe yet with a slight 1920s-40s vibe. What an aristocrat would wear to ride horses, go sailing in, play tennis and then go to a night club in IN THE 1930s-40s ERA. I am obsessed with the boater hat for example.  Its sort of costume-y but its fun and makes me feel like I am going on a gondala ride. I like the concept of going somewhere and dressing for that specific occasion with accessories and props included.  When I see a 1950s tartan check picnic thermos bag, I automatically am trying to find something to wear that will fit and look authentic to the era. And when I do actually go on the picnic, its much more fun and sort of an adventure.  Fashion is much more fun when you think of wearing your everyday outfits in that way.  I think in terms of adventure appropriate attire as well.  I also like to take photographs when I am out so, I sometimes think like a photographer and wear things that photograph well.
An outfit will work for me if :
  1. something about the shape, design, color and detail intrigues me.
 2. Does it fit my body well? Is it comfortable? Is it adventure suitable?
 3. How it makes me feel when I put it on.
and lastly if I am planning on taking photographs,
4. Will it photograph well? Does my style concept come across clear?  What am I trying to portray by wearing this?
These are all in my thoughts when I purchase an item.  I am aware that I am analytical about it but really, personal style is being able to wear something you like and execute it with confidence!
